What is included in the
services of the BRAVE Project?
Educator Workshop
BRAVE staff will provide a professional development workshop for educators which
will include an introduction to bullying, the different forms bullying can take, how to recognize when a child has been bullied and most importantly the impact bullying can have if left unattended. The workshop will also include an over-view of values and
the opportunity to learn how to incorporate them into your program to create a “culture of caring”.
BRAVE workshops can easily be adapted to meet the needs of your program, and have been designed to be appropriate for individuals working in a variety of different learning environments. The workshop is approximately 2 hours in length and presenters leave time at the end for discussion and questions.
BRAVE values the knowledge and experience of participants, and encourages capacity building and sharing throughout the presentation.
Children's Presentation
BRAVE staff can also visit your program to engage children in an interactive group discussion with a focus on what it means to be bullied or to bully others. In addition BRAVE staff will involve children in an activity or discussion designed to help them in thinking about what to do when faced with bullying situations. Children’s participation will help set the stage for their participation in the BRAVE program.
