Parent Education workshop sessions and support groups change quickly depending on the agency and time of the year. Some workshops are on-going and some are only offered once. The best way to find out what is available today is to click on the following links and see what is available now or call the agency to learn more about their programs.

Families Matter creates and facilitate learning opportunities that strengthen families and their connection to communities. The agency provides various programs to families during the various stages of growth. Some of the many programs include our postpartum depression support program, in-home parenting education and various parenting classes and workshops, all which are intended to support families and encourage connection to communities.

The seminar is about how the divorce process affects children. As of September 1, 1997, anyone who files for divorce or judicial separation, or where custody, access, or child support is in dispute is required by the court to attend the Parenting After Separation Seminar.

The BRIDGES program is designed for children between the ages of three- to six-years who are exhibiting significant behavioral and emotional difficulties. BRIDGES accepts children based on referrals by parents/legal guardians. BRIDGES does not have a fee for service cost; this program, and the transportation, is funded through Alberta Learning. BRIDGES’ teams include teachers, child care counselors, a speech-language pathologist, psychologists, family therapists and consulting psychiatrist.
